Bio:

A bay area native, Vernon was born in San Francisco and grew up in the East Bay.  After earning a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2007, Vernon worked in various clinical settings in both community resource centers and schools.  With over 10 years experience, Vernon also worked with foster youth as a social worker, counselor, and foster parent.  Vernon and his wife have 5 children ranging from 7 to 24.  Vernon left counseling to run a full time in-home daycare/preschool together with his wife to help raise their growing family.  Vernon attended law school at night to earn his JD during these years.  He is now back working in a school setting for Oakland Unified School District.  Vernon has experience working with children with ADHD symptoms in school and residential treatment facility settings.  Vernon utilizes family systems therapy to help improve communication and enhance relationships between family members.
