Hello there! I'm a Licensed Educational Psychologist with a PhD in School Psychology from UC Berkeley and over 20 years of experience supporting children, families, and the educators and clinicians who care for them.
My work is rooted in a developmental, ecological, and strengths-based approach. I believe that truly understanding a child means understanding the whole system around them, their neurobiology, their relationships, their environment, and the unique way their brain is wired. I bring this lens to both psychological assessment and direct support, with a particular specialization in early childhood, from birth through early elementary. Throughout all my work, my hope is to tap into the resilience and unique brilliance within every child, so they can thrive in school and life.
In assessment, I have extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for young children (ages 2-8) with ADHD, autism, trauma histories, attachment disorders, speech and language delays, dyslexia and other learning differences, anxiety, and generally more sensitive or complex presentations. I am passionate about translating evaluation findings into practical, meaningful guidance that families and schools can actually use, and I love providing consultation and coaching support to educational teams to help optimize each child's success in the classroom.
In therapy, everything I do is rooted in establishing a meaningful relationship with the child and family. With this as the foundation, I draw on play-based approaches, neuroscience-informed regulation tools, social emotional learning tools, and cognitive behavioral therapy approaches to enhance attachment, tap into each client’s strengths, and support lasting growth.
I also have a deep passion for supporting the well-being, regulation, and emotional intelligence of the adults who show up for children every day, because when the adults are resourced and can more effectively co-regulate, the children in their care thrive. I offer parent coaching and vocational support for child-serving professionals navigating burnout and compassion fatigue.
Outside of my work, I am a mom to two wonderfully sensitive kids who continue to be my greatest teachers.
Excited to get started with you all,
Katie
