Nicole Sorace, LMFT #157186

  • I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to supporting adolescents and their families through life's challenges. With 6 years of experience in community-based mental health in Contra Costa County, including roles providing Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) and Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS), I have gained a deep, practical understanding of the unique pressures and real-world challenges families face every day.

My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, blending behavioral-based therapies (such as CBT and DBT) with attachment-based work to strengthen family connections. I also incorporate somatic and mindfulness-based interventions, along with play, art, and drama therapy, to help clients express emotions and regulate their nervous systems. My hope is to bridge the gap between complex emotions and clear expression, empowering clients to articulate their needs and navigate difficult conversations with confidence. Whether working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, or navigating complex life transitions, my goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where adolescents and their families feel truly seen, heard, and understood.

I view playfulness not just as a tool for children, but as a vital mechanism for connection and growth. Integrating creativity, art, and play allows us to access modes of communication and healing that traditional talk therapy often misses. I believe these experiences build the attunement necessary for lasting change.
